Wholemeal mantou, also known as whole wheat mantou, is a variation of the traditional Chinese steamed bun known as mantou. Mantou is a type of soft and fluffy bread that is steamed instead of baked. Wholemeal mantou is made using whole wheat flour or a combination of whole wheat flour and all-purpose flour, which gives it a darker color and a nuttier flavor compared to regular mantou.
Ingredients:
Pau Flour, Water, Vegetable Fat, Sugar, Baking Powder, Yeast and Salt.
Cooking Method:
Steamed:
Do not defrost. Steam frozen for 10 minutes.
Microwave Oven:
Microwave the steamed bun with a small cup of water side by side for 1 minute at high temperature.
Deep Fry:
Thaw to room temperature. Deep fry at 180°C temperature until golden brown. Crispy outside, soft inside.
