Oil and filter changer, often known as a mechanic or technician, is a professional who specializes in changing the oil and oil filter in vehicles as part of routine maintenance.

Oil and filter changer plays a critical role in maintaining a vehicle's engine health by performing routine oil changes, which is essential for the longevity and optimal performance of the vehicle. They help keep the engine lubricated and protect it from wear and tear.

1-Draining the Old Oil: The changer locates the oil drain plug, typically located on the bottom of the engine oil pan, and removes it using a socket set or wrench. They place an oil drain pan underneath to catch the old oil. The old oil is allowed to drain completely.

2-Removing the Old Oil Filter: The changer uses an oil filter wrench if necessary to loosen the old oil filter. They carefully unscrew and remove the filter by hand, allowing any remaining oil to drain into the pan.

3-Preparing the New Oil Filter: Before installing the new oil filter, the changer lightly lubricates the rubber gasket on the top of the filter with a small amount of fresh oil to help with sealing. If the new filter has a plastic gasket on its base, the old gasket from the filter mounting point on the engine is removed.

4-Installing the New Oil Filter: The changer screws the new oil filter onto the filter housing by hand. They tighten it according to the manufacturer's instructions, usually about 3/4 to 1 turn after the gasket contacts the engine.

5-Replacing the Oil Drain Plug: After all the old oil has drained, the changer replaces the drain plug and tightens it securely.

6-Adding Fresh Oil: The changer consults the vehicle's manual to determine the correct type and quantity of oil needed. They use a funnel to pour the new oil into the engine through the oil filler cap.

7-Checking the Oil Level: The changer starts the engine and lets it run for a minute to circulate the new oil. After turning off the engine and allowing it to sit for a few minutes, they check the oil level using the dipstick and add more oil if necessary to reach the proper level.

8-Final Steps: The changer ensures that the oil filler cap is securely in place, and they clean up any spilled oil and dispose of used materials properly.
