Product details of MALASA Coconut Nectar Paste 450gm

Usage: Are you a sweet tooth person but prefer something not sugary? It sounds good to be true. But it is the truth, actually. You can now replace the white sugar in your kitchen with Malasa Coconut Paste for a moderate sweetness. Handcrafted without preservatives and coloring, palm sugar in the paste form can be used in various food. From local cuisines such as dessert, baking, beverages, and main dishes, coconut paste is suitable for every cooking type. One of the most famous local desserts that use palm sugar is lopes, made with sticky rice and topped with grated coconut and dipped into its sweet sauce.

Follow this simple recipe to use the pure coconut paste to make the lopes' sauce:

  1. Open the Malasa Coconut Paste bottle lid.
  2. Take out a spoonful of the coconut paste.
  3. Mix into a pot filled with water.
  4. The sauce is ready!
Of course, there are many ways to enjoy organic coconut paste apart from using it for desserts. It can substitute white sugar as a natural sweetener that can add flavor to your dishes. If you own a coffee shop, you can now serve drinks to your customers by mixing coconut paste in the coffee to balance the caffeine and sweetness levels. The tantalizing aroma of the caramelized-like coconut paste with a just-nice, perfect sweetness level stirred in a cup of brewed coffee will waft in the air to attract your customer.

Coconut Paste Overview

Coconut paste is a nectar obtained from the secretion of flowers from the coconut tree. In other words, coconut paste is a liquid that is similar to coconut sugar in the sense that both can be used as a sweetener extracted from the flowers of a coconut palm tree. However, coconut paste is a less processed paste, producing a thickened texture like a concentrated form. On the other hand, coconut syrup reflects its name best, seeing that the process involves the coconut sugar added to water. The presence of water makes the coconut sugar be called 'syrup' because the syrup is in the form of liquid.

NRB Food Industries runs its company by manufacturing a great deal of palm sugar products, the Malasa series. Malasa Coconut Paste is one of the palm sugar products sold by the company, which caters to the need of diabetics and people seeking white sugar replacement. The company is vocal in its choice of producing palm sugar products to symbolize the heritage of Melaka. Aside from selling products extracted from the coconut palm tree, the company also emphasizes the need to switch to a healthier choice because both the company and the consumers are health conscious. As many people are concerned about the effects of white sugar intake, they prefer to use coconut paste as it is not only a local product but also offers a more organic and healthier choice of sugar consumption. Perhaps the hidden gem is not pronounced, but coconut paste is a low-glycaemic index (low-GI) product. A low-GI product has many health benefits to offer to its consumer: it can help people with diabetes to consume sugar while controlling their blood glucose level. People on a diet should consider taking palm sugar because it can help your journey to lose weight more healthily and safely–you can lose weight while having complete nutrients needed by your body. Let's throw away the white sugar and buy the coconut paste now for a healthier lifestyle.

NRB Food Industries

Upon retiring from a security company, the founder of NRB Food Industries, Tuan Hj Baharum Hanafiah, started his small business by producing Gula Melaka (Coconut Palm Sugar) at home. The company was established in 2010 and is based in Melaka, Malaysia. The product goes with the name 'Malasa' to indicate its origin and history in Melaka. According to the founder, the name was obtained from the combination of various names of Melaka in history, such as 'Malakat' and 'Mulaqah,' which come from Arabic, 'Amalaka' from Sanscrit and 'Malagas' as called by the Portugis.

The initial supply of NRB Food Industries products was erratic, causing the founder to feel oppressed in finding the best solutions to sustain the quality and supply of the products. To this day, the company has manufactured different variations of Gula Melaka (Coconut Palm Sugar) of different shapes and textures with the help of the founder's wife, Puan Hajjah Che'Pon Mahmud. She has been the strongest pillar that supports the founder in maintaining the quality of the products and assisting in adapting the taste that can be accepted widely in Malaysia. From a small-scale company, NRB Food Industries has grown tremendously in two years. In January 2012, the company inaugurated its Gula Melaka commercial production (Coconut Palm Sugar) at Halal Hub Industrial Zone, Melaka.
