Vietnam Rice Paper

A quick guide:

1. Have all your desired fillings ready and chopped into thin strips or bite-sized pieces. Common fillings include vegetables, proteins, herbs, and vermicelli noodles.
2. Fill a shallow dish with warm water. Dip one rice paper sheet into the water, making sure to submerge it completely. Rotate it gently for about 15-20 seconds until it becomes soft and pliable.
3. Carefully lift the soaked rice paper out of the water and place it on a clean, flat surface. A damp kitchen towel or a plate can also be used to prevent sticking.
4. Arrange a small portion of your chosen fillings in the center of the rice paper, leaving space around the edges for folding.
5. Fold the sides of the rice paper over the fillings and then fold the bottom edge up. Begin rolling tightly from the bottom, keeping the sides tucked in. Continue rolling until the entire sheet is sealed.
6. Place the finished roll on a serving plate or tray. Repeat the process for additional rolls. Serve immediately with dipping sauce or cover with a damp cloth if not serving right away.

Store rice paper in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Excessive heat and humidity can affect the texture and quality of the rice paper.
