Product details of Tung Lam's Fried Tofu Pok 1 kg

Usage: It is advised that the following set of guidelines are followed in order to fully utilise and enjoy the deep-fried soybean curd from Tung Lam Food Industries. Upon purchasing the fried Tau Kwa, gently rip open the top edge of the sealed package containing the spongy Tofu Puffs. Remove as many taufu puffs as desired for preparation and cooking, and tightly seal the opened package before re-storing in the refrigerator once again. The dry and chewy exterior as well as the soft interior of the Tofu Pok make sit an ideal ingredient to be used in soup or broth-based dishes. Some prominent and frequently made dishes that use fried Tofu Pok as a featuring ingredient include Mi Kari, Mi Sup, and also Laksa. On the contrary to this line of dishes, beancurd is also featured prominently in Chinese cuisine across the world as well. With dishes like stir-fried beancurd, stuffed Taufu Pok and braised fried bean curd with minced meat, the versatility of this humble ingredient knows no bounds. This fried bean curd can be used in both hot and cold dishes like frozen salads or even chopped up and served as stuffing for wraps, foldovers and also hot-dog-style sandwiches. Multiple combinations of condiments, spices, and flavours can be mixed and matched with this spongy snack to attain the preferred version of flavour for all members of the household.

Storage: It is advised that the delicately deep-fried tofu pok is refrigerated and kept cool at all times. The ideal temperature to ensure the tofu puff’s freshness and the longevity of its shelf life is between 2°C to 5°C (35.6°F to 41°F). Refrain from keeping the fried tofu at room temperature to avoid the growth of bacteria and the accelerated spoiling of the fried puffs.

Certifications: The following accreditations and certifications have been awarded to all the consequential byproducts of the Tung Lam Food Industries, as an acknowledgement of the service provided by the establishment in all aspects including food safety and hazard control:

  1. JAKIM Halal certified: Tung Lam’s deep-fried beancurd has been recognised as Halal and safe for consumption by Muslims worldwide in compliance with all the laws and regulatory standards implemented by the local authorities and the Shariah law.

Tofu Pok Overview:

As one of the most versatile and highly functional food items, the Tofu Pok is a humble fried beancurd that is typically flat-ish on the outside and has a chewy, soft, spongy centre on the inside. Living up to its name and characteristics, this Tofu Puff often acts as a sponge in various types of dishes and cuisines that have some form of soup or broth-based elements in them. Take a bowl of Mi Kari for instance. A local favourite, Mi Kari is a dish that is almost always served with some variety of Tofu in it. Fulfilling multiple roles as a side dish and also as a palate cleanser, the fried Tofu Pok will soak up large amounts of the broth or curry or soup, and provide you with the much-loved burst of flavour as soon as it goes into the mouth. Literally. The mostly hollow centre of this chewy beancurd provides the perfect amount of space to be used as a casing for other ingredients to be filled in, such as diced vegetables or pickled chilli for a zestier kick. With that being said, this superfood can also be subjected to various styles of cooking to achieve a myriad of textures that vary from its original texture of sponginess. If you prefer a crispier version of this delicious tofu, it can also be grilled or air-fried to give it that extra edge of crunchiness and textural variety. Dip it in a bowl of homemade chilli or some soy sauce, and you’ve got the perfect finger food that can be served up in minutes at any last-minute gathering or at a much-awaited game night, for the whole family to enjoy.
