The pressure and temperature sensors provide information based on which the AC controller determines the volume of the cooling agent pumped into the system and controls the compressor. The signals related to the pressure and temperature of the cooling agent are also used to protect the system against damage, e.g. compressor seizure or overheating. If the sensor fails and no signal is provided, the AC is disabled. The controller switches it off or puts it in a less effective, emergency mode.
