Lycopene is the most powerful antioxidant in the carotenoid. It makes tomatoes red. It is soluble in oils and insoluble in water. Lycopene is easily absorbed by the organism and is naturally present in human plasma and tissues in higher concentrations than the other carotenoids.
Lycopene is part of the family of pigments called carotenoids, which are natural compounds that create the colours of fruits and vegetables with vitamins C and E, protect us from the free radicals that degrade many parts of the body.
