Bangkok, 3 October 2009 (NNT) - The Department of Health in cooperation with The Halal Science Center, Chulalongkorn University, Islamic Affairs Committee of Bangkok Metropolis, Bangkok leading hotels and related authorities hosted "Encouraging Bangkok Restaurants to Meet Halal Food Services standard".
The conference was held yesterday at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, and was welcomed by M.R. Sukumbhand Paribatra, Bangkok Governor as the Chairperson of the conference.
The seminar on "Halal Business Opportunities in Bangkok" was made in order to improve Bangkok leading restaurants to meet Halal Food Services Standard by encouraging the entrepreneurs to provide the appropriate Halal services to attract Islamic tourists.
Bangkok Metropolitan Administration will take charge of identifying regulations, fees and helping roles for future Halal standard approval.
